India, GCC Review Joint Action Plan at New York Ministerial

India and the Gulf Cooperation Council reaffirmed their close ties and reviewed progress on the joint action plan at the Troika ministerial meeting in New York. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar highlighted the historically close relationship, underpinned by vibrant trade and strong people-to-people linkages.

Trade and energy on the table

Gulf countries remain among India’s largest trading partners and a vital source of energy imports, while millions of Indians live and work in the region. Officials said discussions covered trade facilitation, investment flows, and food and energy security.

Diplomatic calendar

The meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly sets up a busy diplomatic calendar, with follow-up working group sessions expected in the coming months.
